The Opportunity

As a growth marketer, you will be responsible for growth strategy, execution, and optimization of all digital customer acquisition and retention efforts. This position will require a comprehensive understanding of online lead and sale generation industry, the leadership to execute daily operational tasks, and the ability to create strong product and channel marketing materials. You will be accountable for successful design and execution of the acquisition marketing and retention strategies across multiple performance marketing channels including paid social, display, and third party partnerships. Success will be measured by qualified lead flow, conversion rates, and on-going prospect nurturing metrics. Growth marketing is a nascent discipline at ReturnX, and this role will play a pivotal part in building sustainable scale and growing ReturnX’s presence in the market. This individual will lay the foundation for this critical function and will have a chance to grow the team.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Build, launch, and optimize the end-to-end online campaign strategy, tactics, execution and test/learn efforts to scale digital marketing while focused on driving cost-effective, high quality leads.
  • Build and test emails, website landing pages, forms, lead lists and reports within a marketing CRM platform.
  • Build and improve marketing automation strategy and process.
  • Centralize, manage, and QA email, chatbots deployment and contact strategies across multiple audiences and segments - sometimes simultaneously.
  • Be an expert of growth marketing analysis and data; measuring and optimizing all stages of the funnel using data analytics platform.
  • Design, implement, and monitor paid social and display campaigns, including Facebook and Google ads.
  • Help the team build an attribution model that “tells the whole story” of the buying path.
  • Create dashboards to allow real time access to KPI against goals across the organization and actionable insights.
  • Ensure all online marketing efforts follow industry policies and best practices.
  • Develop documentation and road maps for processes, A/B tests, and promotions.
  • Perform research to glean insights and identify new growth opportunities.
  • Continuously innovate our approach to Growth Marketing.
  • Be the digital marketing thought-leader insuring world class results.

What we’re looking for

  • Degree in Marketing or relevant field
  • 3-4 years of digital marketing experience including Growth Marketing, Email Marketing, or Performance Marketing.
  • Hands on experience with CRM platforms, Google Analytics, Excel, Facebook/Instagram Paid Marketing, Google Ads Marketing.
  • Hands-on experience with Constant Contact/Mailchimp/Hubspot (or other email marketing or marketing automation tool).
  • Knowledge of lead generation, lead nurturing, drip campaigns, design tools, content management system (CMS).
  • Hands on experience with HTML/CSS.
  • Proficiency in marketing automation technology.
  • Familiarity with analytical and database tools.
  • Excellent written communication and copywriting skills.
  • An ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Affiliate Marketing experience is a major plus.
  • Highly analytical with experience in conversion tracking within platforms and within Google Analytics, upper funnel metrics analyzation, and marketing attribution.
  • Experience working with creative teams, acting as the business stakeholder—writing briefs, drafting copy, weighing in on creative, and being accountable for the performance of the creative.
  • Detail-oriented, ability to work cross-functionally and interest in understanding the business is a must.
  • Must be able to multitask, prioritize work, and manage time efficiently.

ReturnX is looking for a high-energy and driven individual to join our young, dynamic, and growth-focused team based in Johannesburg, South Africa with a client base around the globe. The Sales Representative is responsible for selling the company's B2B online digital services by identifying leads, building sales pipeline, educating prospects on our services through calls and online video chats, presentations, and closing sales.

In order to be successful in this role, the sales representative will need to have a deep understanding of the sales process and dynamics, superb interpersonal skills, as well as a broad understanding of online digital marketing and advertising. 



  • Must have a drivers’ licence and own vehicle, however during lockdown we are all working remotely.
  • Must be comfortable with travelling 80% of the time and office-based 20% of time (once lockdown is over)



  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field



  • Minimum 5 years sales experience (local digital agency environment is a huge advantage)
  • Proven ability to meet and exceed sales quotas
  • Previous work experience with CRM to maintain and keep track of all sales-related activities (Salesforce is a plus)
  • Excellent written communication
  • MS Office Suite (Intermediate essential)
  • Must be able to work remotely with a strong and stable Internet connectivity (fibre is a plus).

Key Skills / Experience

  • At least one year of experience within the affiliates industry

  • Good working knowledge of major analytics programmes like Google Analytics
  • Knowledge of subscription-based acquisition marketing would be a bonus
  • Passion for affiliate marketing and the wider digital industry 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills – including presenting and reporting
  • Strong people and partnership management skills
  • Strong Excel and numerical skills
  • A good understanding of the whole digital marketing mix
  • A good working knowledge of the latest affiliate marketing and online partnerships trends
